Our Markets Have Begun

Connor, Sophie and Brogan have begun selling items at the markets. Most of the time you can find them by my side or selling rocks they have collected on the shores of Lake Champlain and have hand painted. Lately they have been picking rhubarb and strawberries from our garden. The ones they did not eat I make into delicious strawberry-rhubarb muffins to sell on market days. As soon as I collect enough strawberries, I will be able to make and sell strawberry and strawberry rhubarb jam. Look for these new products soon at our South Hero markets on Wednesdays 4:00-7:00 p.m or on Saturdays in Grand Isle from 10:00 - 2:00.

The Markets Have Begun

Connor, Sophie and Brogan wait for customers at our South Hero Market. Along with waiting for customers, the children have begun to pick some strawberries from our garden. Strawberries that were not consumed by them were made into scrumptious strawberry-rhubarb muffins to sell. When our strawberry plants really begin to produce more berries, look for strawberry and strawberry-rhubarb jam at our stand in South Hero on Wednesdays from 4:00 - 7:00 and Grand Isle on Saturdays from 10:00 - 2:00.

First Market Jitters

Sophie and Brogan were busy baking baguettes today. Our first day at the 2008 Island's Farmers Market begins. Baguettes are one of the items we sold. We harvested rhubarb from the garden and made scrumptious muffins. We also sold tasty strawberry scones, farmhouse granola and other delicious items. We are adding to our collection of breads by adding a honey wheat bread to be sold along side our baguettes and very popular maple oat bread.
